Reptile Food

Tenebrio molitor; Yellow medium mealworm, Meal worm.

These worms are the larvae of darkling beetles, gold coloured, with a hard outer shell. Medium sized mealworms make great food for mice, rats, hedgehogs and sugar gliders. Mediums are 15 to 18 mm long and come packaged approximately 20,000 per box. Chemical-free. Product is of edible quality, even officially approved for the use in human food. Store at appr. 10.0 degrees Celsius. Also available in frozen form.

Tenebrio molitor

The migratory locust (Locusta migratoria), Grasshopper.

The migratory locust (Locusta migratoria) is the most widespread locust species, and the only species in the genus Locusta. It occurs throughout Africa, Asia, Australia and New Zealand. Reptiles, fishes and bird are fond of them. The migratory locust we have is a cultivated edible insect of appr. 70mm long, from our insect breeders in Europe, it is officially approved for the use in food in Switzerland. Store dry at 20.0 degrees Celsius. Also available in frozen form.

Drosophila melanogaster and Drosophila hydei; Flightless fruit fly.

We offer Drosophila melanogaster and Drosophila hydei. Drosophila melanogaster are approximately 1/16", while Drosophila hydei are approximately 1/8" in size. These are great for feeding small lizards and large insects. Both can not fly. Regular fruit flies should be kept at 21 - 24 degrees Celsius and giant fruit flies should be kept at 25 - 28 degrees Celsius. Each culture contains 40-50 medium adult flies.

Zophobas morio; Dark mealworm, Jumbo millworm, Super worm, Giant mill worm and Royal mill worm.

Superworms are super active – this makes them irresistible to reptiles and fish. More than twice the size of a medium mealworm, these worms have a soft body that is easy for pets to digest. We offer Superworms in many quantities so you can always keep them on hand. Available in the size 3.5 to 4.5 cm long and come packaged approximately 4,000 per box. Store at appr. 10.0 degrees Celsius. Also available in frozen form.

Hermetia illucens; Black soldier fly larvae, Nutri gurb, Calcium worms.

Black soldier fly larvae (BSFL) also known as calcium worms are a very common animal food suitable for reptiles, turtles and koi fish. The only insect species currently viable for pet food applications (larvae and meal). They contain a lot of calcium which is good for their skeletal structure. Chemical-free. They are around 12 mm long and come packaged approximately 50,000 per box. Chemical-free. Store at appr. 10.0 degrees Celsius. Also available in frozen form. Pack of ready to hatch eggs on request.

Alphitobius leavigatus, Lesser mealworms, Yellow buffaloworms.

Buffalo worms are very nutritious. The larvae are great food for very small Fish, Reptiles, Amphibians and Mammal pets! They are approximately 7 to 11 mm in length at last instar, approximately half the size of a yellow mealworm, and come packaged approximately 30,000 per box. Store at appr. 10.0 degrees Celsius. Our yellow buffalo worms are approved for human consumption and used in several supermarket products. Also available in frozen form.

Galleria mellonella; Wax worms, Bee moths.

Waxworms are the larvae of the wax moth, they are soft bodied. It is a tasty treat for all insect eating pets, reptiles, amphibians and birds. The advantage of the wax moth larvae is that they are easily digestible. Wax moth larvae are high in protein, calcium and fat. Mediums are around 16 to 22mm long and come packaged approximately 6,000 per box. Chemical-free. Store at appr. 15.0 degrees Celsius. Also available in frozen form.

Blaptica dubia, Dubia roach.

Our Dubia roaches also known as the orange-spotted roach, Guyana spotted roach, Argentinian wood roach come in the sizes small, medium and large. They grow to around 40 -45 mm (1.6 - 1.8 in) in length. Adult male have full wings covering their body, while females have only tiny wing stubs. Blaptica dubia are an excellent nutritional feeder for your insect eating pets, especially tarantula, amphibians and reptiles are fond of them. They have a long life span when being hold between 20 and 25 degrees Celsius. Mediums come with approximately 1,500 per box.

Acheta domesticus, Gryllus domesticus, House cricket.

One of the most widely used live baits. In Japan they call them European eco orogi. They are typically brownish in color, grow to 16-21 mm in length and have a soft body making them easily digestible. They are a great source of protein, vitamins and minerals for reptiles, birds, amphibians and other pets, even panfish are fond of it. Available at any time of the year in various sizes. Also freeze-dried and frozen. Chemical free. Store at appr. 15.0 degrees Celsius.

Musca domestica, Terfly, Flightless house fly.

Our flightless housefly is a sort of housefly with deformed wings that can’t fly and so not escape. Curly wing flies are 6-7 mm in length, when fully grown, the perfect size for very small amphibians, fish and insectivorous invertebrates. They are high in nutrition and quite easy to digest. House flies are shipped as pupae. Store at 10.0 degrees Celsius. Hatched at room temperature as needed.
